1.1 The Chair welcomed Members and members of the public to the meeting.

3.1 The Committee received evidence from:
· Dilwyn Roberts-Young, Deputy General Secretary, UCAC
· Jenny Griffin, Area Organiser, Unison
3.2 During the evidence session, UCAC agreed to provide the report from work undertaken in Westminster in relation to teachers working later in life, due to pension changes.
3.3 During the evidence session, UCAC and Unison agreed to provide:
· examples of good practice of career advice from employers;
· their views on the impact of automation on the role of teachers, including any future value placed on the caring aspect of the role.
4.1.a The Committee noted the notes of the focus group discussions.
4.2.a The Committee noted the letter from the Minister for Housing and Regeneration, the Cabinet Secretary for Local Government and Public Services and the Cabinet Secretary for Energy, Planning and Rural Affairs and agreed to respond.
5.1 The Committee agreed the motion.
6.1 The Committee discussed the evidence received under items 2 and 3.
